Altered Reality : Science Fiction and Fantasy Club founded in the fall of 2004, the club is one of the largest and most vibrant on campus. Club sponsored events include movie nights, discussion groups, role-playing games and just about anything else related to science fiction and fantasy. Whether your interest lies with movies, anime, tabletop role-playing, computer games or elsewhere, you will find a place in the group. Band and Musical Performance: UW-Rock County offers many opportunities to pursue your interests in music. If you played an instrument in high school and you would like to continue for fun or professionally, check out some of the options available to you at UW-Rock County. Performance opportunities include: UW-Rock County Jazz Ensemble, Rock Prairie Big Band, Rock Prairie Concert Band, Rock Prairie Chamber Orchestra, Rock Prairie Festival Orchestra and also Student music recitals (3 per semester) where you perform solo! Basketball: Did you play basketball in high school? Or have you always wanted to? UW-Rock County offers men's and women's basketball as an intercollegiate sport. For more information contact coach Scott Lee at scott.lee@uwc.edu.

Rock Rooks Chess Club : Members of the Rock Rooks Chess Club gather each day at noon in the library and enjoy the art and fellowship of playing chess. Friendly competitions, tournaments, and events are organized on campus throughout the year. With more than 45 members, a wide range of skill levels are represented within the club ranging from beginner to advanced. For more information contact click here.

Choir : If vocal music is one of your interests, UW-Rock County provides many opportunities to sing. Choir is open to any student without audition. This choir meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon-12:50 p.m. If a student is part of the choir, they are also eligible audition for the Madrigal Choir in the fall semester and/or the Swing Choir in the spring. College Conservatives : The College Conservatives seek to promote the conservative mindset amongst UW-Rock County students whether through debates, rallies or lobbying. For more information contact Fredrick Appah at fredrick.appah@uwc.edu

The College Democrats : The College Democrats pledge to support the candidates and philosophy of the Democratic Party. Furthermore, the College Democrats declares its intention to support all efforts to increase the participation of college students in Democratic affairs. To these ends, the College Democrats shall educate and train its members so that they may be better able to: educate students about the philosophy of the Democratic Party, assist in the election of local, state, and national Democratic candidates, and affect political change on the local, state and national level. Future Educators Club: Thinking of becoming a teacher? Become a member of the Student WEA (Wisconsin Education Association) organization. The Student WEA will promote interest in young adults interested in education, provide members with opportunities for developing personal growth and professional competence, provide for gaining an understanding of the history, ethics and programs of the education profession, provide opportunities for participating in cooperative work on the problems of the profession and the community, provide professional membership on the local, state and national levels during the preparation period for a career in education and provide students with the resources needed to prepare them to become educators. The G.R.E.E.N. Scene (Grass Roots Environmental Education Network) : This club focuses on environmental and social issues surrounding us locally and globally. The GREEN Scene will provide a network of environmental and social information that reaches out into nationwide communities through action and education. Health Science Careers Club/Wellness Alliance: Interested in a career in the health sciences or medical field, or just interested in promoting good health and wellness? Then, look into this club! Get information on study methods, give and receive advice on classes, or get involved in a Red Cross Blood Drive , the Cancer Society's Relay for Life, or the Safe Spring Break events. Imagination Inc.: Provides an arena for the literary and visual arts on campus. Imagination, Inc. shall edit and publish periodic journals of student art, which will include short fiction, poetry, essays, manifestoes, prose poems, musical scores, photography, illustrations, and other media suitable for print (and possibly web format). The club shall also sponsor book discussions, writing workshops, readings, promotional events, and gatherings for any students interested in the literary and/or graphic arts. LIM,E (Life Is Music, Enjoy): Doesn't the name just about say it all for this student club? Club LIM,E will promote, share, and learn alternative musical ideas. Mathletic Association (Math club): The math club will promote an interest in and foster an appreciation for mathematics. The organization plans to participate in and host math competitions, provide tutoring services, and explore various branches of mathematics. Multicultural Student Union (MSU): Do you work for racial justice and value diversity? Want to understand others and make the world a more tolerant place? Then, check out the MSU, open to any student, of any race or cultural heritage. This club emphasizes the development of friendships, the sharing of perspectives, and appreciation of all cultures. For anyone interested in multicultural events, and issues, on the campus and in the world. OASIS (Opportunities for Adult Students to Interact Successfully): OASIS focuses on creating a welcoming atmosphere for adult students (age 22 years and older), their families, and the general student population. Phi Theta Kappa (PTK): PTK has recognized academic excellence in the two year colleges since 1918 and has become the largest and most prestigious honor society serving two year colleges around the world. Membership is based primarily upon academic achievement. To be eligible for membership in PTK at the University of Wisconsin-Rock County, you must be enrolled at UW-Rock County, you must have completed at least 12 credit hours of university level coursework at UW-Rock County, you must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5, and you must enjoy full rights of citizenship in the United States. Rock Rooks Chess Club: Do you like the challenge of a good chess game, whether for fun or competition? This popular student-sponsored club is for anyone interested in practicing the art of chess, even if you don't currently know how to play. Drop in and test your skill against the more than 45 members from beginners to advanced level. The Saber Rattlers : The purpose of the organization is to promote a better understanding of the sport of fencing, provide an outlet for those interested in the sport of fencing, and to just have fun. Members of the Saber Rattlers fencing club may participate in fencing drills, bouts and various exhibitions. For more information contact Brian Duckwitz at brian.duckwitz@uwc.edu.

The School of Rock-Drama Club : The School of Rock Drama Club is open to all UW-Rock students who are interested in any aspect of theatrical production including performance, technical theatre or management. Our goal is to increase awareness of theatre as an art form and an avenue for expression both here on campus and in the community at large. Sigma Kappa Delta: This English Honor Society is primarily a service organization. If you think that you would like to participate in public readings (ex. readings of African American writers in February for African-American history month), book drives for charity, celebrating author and film director birthdays, etc. Then this would be the club for you. Eligible students will have at least a 3.3 overall GPA and a grade of no less than a B in all English courses taken. For more information contact advisor John Pruitt at john.pruitt@uwc.edu.

Sports Activity Club: The Sports Activity Club will promote a better understanding of sports/activities around the world and it will provide an outlet for those interested in sports and unique activities all while having fun. Soccer: UW-Rock County offers soccer as a co-ed intercollegiate sport. The soccer program has a long history of success and will celebrated 30 years in the 2004 season. STAND(A Student Anti-Genocide Coalition): STAND brings together students to work towards an end to genocide wherever it occurs worldwide. Specifically it works to increase consciousness about the current crisis in Darfur among fellow students and in the community, to raise funds for relief and protection for the victims and displaced, and to advocate for political action and accountability. Student Government Association (SGA): Learn leadership skills and assist your fellow student while organizing various campus activities. Open to all members of the campus community by way of election or appointment. Being involved in the student government has many perks, such as: trips to other UW Colleges throughout the state, planning and organizing upcoming campus activities, and contributing to campus policy making. TV Club : The TV Club produces a television news and entertainment program for UW-Rock County students, faculty and staff. Volleyball : Did you play volleyball in high school? Or have you always wanted to? UW-Rock County offers volleyball as a women’s intercollegiate sport. For more information contact coach Megan Scheunemann at megan.scheunemann@uwc.edu.

Women's Leadership Club : Increase education and discussion about important world issues, create a campus support organization for women, and have fun while meeting new people with similar interests and concerns.
