The Kissers To Perform Reunion Concert at UW-Rock March 18
Janesville – The Madison-born band The Kissers broke up last spring and two members, Nate Palan and Kari Bethke, now live in New York, but that didn’t stop their loyal fans from voting them as Madison’s Favorite Rock Band in an Isthmus poll last August – for the sixth time. Known for their Celtic rock, eclectic instrumentation and humorous style, The Kissers will reunite around St. Patrick’s Day for three much-anticipated Wisconsin concerts, the finale of which will be held at UW-Rock County on Wednesday, March 18.
The UW-Rock County show is open to all ages and will be held in the Frank Holt Gymnasium in the lower level of the Wells Cultural Center on the campus at 2909 Kellogg Ave. It starts at 6 p.m. Admission is only $5 at the door for the general public and free to UW-Rock County students with an ID. The event is sponsored by the UW-Rock County Performing Arts & Lecture Series.
The Kissers began in 1998 and released their first full-length album, Fire in the Belly, in 2003. Members of the band include founder Ken Fitzsimmons on vocals, bass and acoustic guitar; Nate Palan on electric guitar, banjo and vocals; Kari Bethke on violin and vocals; Mike Cammilleri on accordion; Sean Michael Dargan on guitar; and Joe Bernstein on drums.
