See Rocky Horror Show Live at UW-Rock County
Janesville - University Theatre at UW-Rock County will perform the musical The Rocky Horror Show by Richard OBrien Wednesday, April 15, through Saturday, April 18, including a special midnight show Saturday night for the public. The production will take place in the Kirk Denmark Theatre on the campus at 2909 Kellogg Ave.
H. Gene Biby, UW-Rock County assistant professor of communication and theatre arts, is directing this stage show that first premiered in London in 1973. The film version, The Rocky Horror Picture Show released in 1975, is a cult classic still in some theaters, making it the longest-running film in history. Both the stage show and the film parody science fiction and horror movies and include catchy songs such as "The Time Warp" and "Sweet Transvestite."
UW-Rock County students can attend a free student preview Wednesday night at midnight. Public performances will be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. plus an additional Saturday night performance at midnight.
Tickets for the public performances are $6 for students and $8 for adults. Purchase advance tickets in the business services office on the campus, by phone at (608) 758-6565 ext. 100 or at the door before each show.
