Youth Orchestra to Perform Rescheduled Concert

JANESVILLE - The Rock Prairie Youth Orchestra will perform on Thursday, January 29, at 7:30 p.m. in the Kirk Denmark Theatre on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Rock County, 2909 Kellogg Ave. This sixth annual fall concert was cancelled in December due to weather conditions.

The youth orchestra, which is essentially split into three groups this year, will be performing a wide variety of works including pedagogical arrangements of works by Beethoven, Sammartini, Vivaldi, Corelli and also original works by Arthur Frackenpohl and Lionel Ritchie. Other pieces include Mozart's Symphony No. 40 and an arrangement of The Barber of Seville overture by Rossini.

Admission to the concert is free, but donations are gladly accepted. Refreshments will be provided for purchase by Mocha Moment. For more information, please contact director Jeff Suarez at (608) 758-6554.
