History
The UW-Rock Soccer team was founded in 1974 and is one of the oldest soccer programs in the area. The team was coached by Pete Mory and competed throughout the 1970s and mid 1980s as a varsity sport. In the mid 1980s the soccer team became a club sport and then was brought back to varsity status in 1989 by Coach Mike Dietz. The 1993 season marked the first winning season in UW-Rock soccer history and marked the turning point in which UW-Rock became a conference force. Throughout the 1990s UW-Rock was a conference powerhouse winning many division and conference titles, culminating with a trip to the Wisconsin Junior College Athletic Association finals in 2000. After a couple of rough seasons Grant McNall took over coaching duties in 2003 and had early struggles but turned things around in 2005 with a 13-4 record, the best in UW-Soccer history. The 2005 season was highlighted with another trip to the WJCAA finals. After a rebuilding year in 2006, the Rattlers were back on track in 2007 with an 8-3-2 record. High points include winning the UW-Fund du Lac Kickoff Klassic. This was the second time in three years UW-Rock had won the Klassic. Additionally UW-Rock won a 1 st round playoff game. The season came to end with hard fought 2 nd round loss to UW-Fox valley.
