Message:
The key to the development of good citizens, other professions and a productive workforce is to have the best teachers possible in our classrooms. This is critical to the growth and health of our nation and therefore deserves our attention.
Likewise, having visited Poland, the Czech Republic and taught in Hungary this past summer (2007), I am interested in each country’s approach to teacher training and development as Eastern Europe transitions from a communistic culture to one that is more open. The area of teacher training and development in these countries is undergoing major reforms for the second time since the collapse of communism in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. This is a topic I will continue to review and study.
